Seminar 36 Buddhist Chaplaincy: Presence, Listening, and Compassion
Speaker: Xinying Li
As a Buddhist hospital chaplain, Xinying Li encounters people at the edge of uncertainty — patients, families, and caregivers searching for meaning when words fall short. In this seminar, she will reflect on how Buddhist teachings guide her through moments of loss, hope, and deep listening. Moving beyond the need for answers, she will share how the practice of “not-knowing” opens a field of compassion and connection where healing becomes possible. Together we will explore how presence itself — grounded, receptive, and free from judgment — can become an expression of wisdom.
We warmly invite you to join us in listening, reflecting, and discovering the wisdom of not-knowing in community!
