Seminar 44 Food and Compassion: Rethinking What Sustains All Beings
Dr. Ananda Mahinkanda will guide us in exploring how all beings rely on food—including the Buddhist teaching on the four types of sustenance—inviting us to approach diet with loving-kindness toward animals while re-examining common assumptions about protein, dairy products, and modern diseases.
Speakers: Ananda Mahinkanda Ananda Mahinkanda, PhD, is an Accounting and Finance professional and Business Administrator whose work and travels across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and North America have shaped his rich multicultural outlook. A devoted advocate of ahimsa, he promotes plant-based living for the well-being of animals, human health, and the environment. Ananda is also a dedicated meditation and Dhamma practitioner, having undertaken temporary ordination and continuing to cultivate a mindful and ethical path. He is the founder of the Samahitha Nature Foundation USA and serves as an International Advisor to the Sri Lanka Non-Violence Society.
