Seminar 58 Peaceful Pause: Teaching Through the Lens of the Bodhisattva Ideal
What might education look like if it were guided by mindfulness and the Bodhisattva ideal? In this session of the Abhidharma & Life Seminar series, Ileana Ayub, an elementary school teacher, shares how simple moments of mindful pause can transform the atmosphere of a classroom. Drawing from her teaching experience, Ileana reflects on how modeling mindfulness, reflection, and compassion helps children feel seen, valued, and safe. These small yet meaningful practices nurture empathy, respect, and kindness—qualities that support not only academic growth but also the development of thoughtful and caring members of the community. This talk offers a glimpse into how everyday teaching can become a path of compassionate practice. Participants are warmly invited to join this conversation on mindfulness, education, and the Bodhisattva spirit in daily life. Speaker: Ileana Ayub
