Seminar 61 Remembering Our Ancestors: Three Cultural Perspectives
Join us for a thoughtful and cross-cultural exploration of how different traditions remember and honor the deceased. This session brings together three perspectives—from Germany, Mexico, and China—each offering a 15-minute presentation on cultural practices of ancestor remembrance.
Centered around the shared theme of “ancestors,” the event invites participants to reflect on how memory, ritual, and care for the departed are expressed across cultures. Each speaker will also draw on Buddhist sources, including verses from the Abhidharma and related texts, to provide a deeper spiritual and theoretical grounding for their reflections.
Whether you are interested in religious traditions, cultural practices, or contemplative approaches to memory and loss, this session offers a meaningful space for learning, connection, and reflection.
