Seminar 82
Sinhala Buddhism in the United States:
Observations from a Sri Lankan Perspective

Picture
This talk shares ethnographic observations of how Sinhala Buddhist practices are lived and expressed in the United States today. Drawing on ongoing fieldwork across multiple sites, it highlights continuities and shifts in ritual life, monastic practice, and community engagement. The focus is on everyday religious experience as seen from the perspective of someone rooted in the Sri Lankan Buddhist context.
