禅师，您长个了 Chan Master, You Have Grown Taller

一个人见到禅师，看了一会说，“禅师，你最近好像长个了？” 

Someone visited a Chan master. After looking closely at the master for a while, he teased, "Chan Master, It seems like you have grown taller recently!?"​

当时周围的人都很尴尬，觉得这样开一位禅师的玩笑有点过了。按一般人的想法，可能马上就要回一句说“你才长个了”，或者不说话，装作没听见，但最后一定会闹得不欢而散。只见禅师笑呵呵地回答：“说明你最近认识有所提高了。”那个人想了一会，一笑：“你这个回答真的很妙。”

还有人问：“禅师，如果前面火车道左边有五个人，右边有十个人，你开火车，火车刹不住，你撞哪一边？”禅师答道：“我是个和尚，怎么会去开火车呢？”

​不管在任何场合，我们总会遇到很多无常之事，如果以慈悲为怀，就一定会有办法应对，因为慈悲心是很大的智慧，能够化解人与人间的冲突。

​ Everyone around felt awkward and thought it’s a bit too much to make fun of a Chan master. The ordinary person may reply immediately: “It’s you who have grown taller!” Or may pretend not to hear, and not respond at all. But in the end, they would part on bad terms. Instead, the Master replied with a smile, “that means your judgment has improved！” That person has paused and then laughed, “This is such a clever answer!”

Someone else asked, "Chan Master, suppose you are driving an unstoppable train. Right ahead of you, there are 5 people on the left track and 10 people on the right track. Which side will you rather hit?” The Chan master replied, "I am a monk. Why do I drive a train?"

​No matter where we are, we will always encounter impermanence. Being compassionate, we will always be able to find solutions. Compassion is great wisdom, which can resolve conflicts among people.
