心态决定未来 Mindset Determines Future

在网络上看到一个故事：一对双胞胎兄弟，在两天之内登上报纸。

​I came across a story on the Internet: a pair of twin brothers showed up in the newspaper within two days. 

哥哥上报纸是因为他是参议员，为国家做出了贡献；弟弟上报是因杀人被判处无期徒刑。 记者采访哥哥：“是什么促成了你今天的成功？”哥哥说：“我父亲好赌，回家后常常醉酒打人，在这种环境下长大，我能怎么办？”下一句没说出来的话是：我只有靠自己努力奋斗了！ 弟弟也接受了采访。他无辜地说：“我父亲好赌，回家后常常醉酒打人，在这种情形下长大，我能有什么选择？”下一句没说出来的话是：这不是我的错，谁叫我有这样的父亲！ 两种不同的思惟模式，决定了两种不同的人生。 每天焦躁、抱怨、无所事事，最终陷入生活的黑暗。顺境处理不好，就会变成逆境；逆境处理得好，就会变成顺境。所以，不是顺境逆境的问题，而是心态问题。

The older brother was reported by the newspaper because of his contribution to the country as a senator, while the younger brother was reported because he was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. The reporter interviewed the older brother: "What contributed to your today’s success?" The older brother said: "My father loves gambling. He often gets drunk and beats people after returning home. What else can I do when growing up in this environment?" The unspoken words were: I can only depend on my own hard work! The younger brother also received the interview. He said innocently: "My father loved gambling; he often got drunk and beat people after coming home. What choice do I have when growing up in this environment?" The unspoken words were: It's not my fault. Who let me have such a father! Two different mindsets determine two different lives. Being anxious and complaining day after day without taking meaningful actions will eventually fall into the dark side of life. Even good situations can become bad situations if not handled well, whereas bad situations can turn into good situations when handled properly. Therefore, it is not a problem of good or bad situation, but a problem of mindset.
