心直可以, 口不能快 It's Ok To Say What You Think, But Not Ok To Speak Without Thinking

很多人说话时，特别心直口快，还老爱强调，“我这个人就是直肠子，有什么说什么，绝不遮遮掩掩”。​

Many people like to speak without thinking, and they say “I say what I think. I don’t hide.” ​​​

​他们自己认为的好话不一定就是好话，心直口快也很容易伤人。心直口快的人，可能是一个古道热肠的人，但是说出来的话，却让人不能接受。

在佛家看来，心直是好事，口快却是没有智慧，是不善巧的。

还有人认为，心直口快的人往往不会说假话。其实，这个也不一定。

​比如，某人看见一个什么现象，马上就说了，这是我先看见的，我认为是事实。但是，你看到的这个现象可能是另外一回事。如果他认定他看到的才是事实，冲突必然发生。所以，千万别认为心直口快的人说出来的话就一定是真话，是实话，不一定。也许对他而言，有可能是实话。但对于事实来说，不一定就是实话；对别人来说，可能不一定就是真相。

What they think are good words, are not necessarily nice words, and speaking without thinking often hurts people’s feelings. Probably people who speak without thinking are warm-hearted, but their words are difficult for people to accept.

In the Buddhist, it is good to say what you think, but it is not wise or skillful to speak before thinking.

Some people think that people who speak without thinking do not usually lie. Actually, that may not be true.

For instance, immediately after seeing something, a person says “I’m the first one to see it, and I think it is true.” But, what you saw might not be what you thought it was. If you insist what you saw is the truth, conflicts arise.

​Therefore, don’t think words of people who speak without thinking are definitely true. Probably not.
