说服别人? No. Never Ever Try to Persuade Others

如果跟一个戾气很重的人沟通，我们是忍着不说，还是顺着他或者跟他作对？​

What is considered the proper way to communicate with a hostile person? Should we keep silence in general, agree with him regardless of what he says, or simply fight him when he is being unreasonable?

其实，我们要明白一点，沟通不是为了说服别人。沟通是为了理解别人，如果你理解了他的戾气，他的戾气就开始减弱；比如你抱怨冷漠，他的戾气就会增长。

​现在善于表达的人越来越多，善于聆听的人越来越少。其实，什么是好好说话？很大部分是你好好听人家说了什么，然后再以爱心和智慧来回答。

In fact, we need to understand that communication does not equal persuasion. The purpose of communicating is to understand others. For instance, if you can understand where another's hostility is coming from, his hostility will usually fade away. In contrast, if you complain and are inconsiderate about it, his hostility will be fed and grow worse.

​Nowadays, there are many experts on speaking professionally and with sophistication although there are fewer good listeners compared to the past. So what exactly is "speaking properly"? Most of the time, it is when you mindfully and carefully listen to others and respond with love and wisdom.
